How HIFU Technology Works

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is an innovative treatment for age-related changes malignancies, including inoperable pancreatic tumors. It is widely used for body shaping and lipolysis because it’s highly effective.

With the help of hifu therapy, you can help restore your appearance. It is a safer alternative to other procedures like surgery.

What is HIFU?

HIFU is a technique for ultrasonic correction of age-related changes, local fat deposits, and cellulite using high-intensity focused ultrasound.

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. For therapy, a special apparatus is used that focuses a high dose of ultrasonic waves at a given point. Ultrasonic energy is absorbed by the human body and converted into heat. At the focal point (pathological area), the temperature can reach 70-80 ⁰С, which leads to the melting of fats in that particular part of the body.

During HIFU therapy, doctors change the intensity and time of exposure to ultrasonic radiation, achieving the desired therapeutic effect. It is suitable for clients who are contraindicated in surgical interventions, who do not want to go to plastic surgeons and then stay at home during the rehabilitation period.

Where is the HIFU method applied?

Initially, HIFU technology was created for oncology, cardiology, and gynecology therapy. And then, it began to be used in aesthetic medicine. First for SMAS layer lift, then for HIFU liposuction.

HIFU SMAS Lift

HIFU SMAS-lifting (smas-lifting) is a method of correcting age-related skin changes. It is also called a non-surgical facelift since, in the absence of surgical intervention, the hifu 效果 is superior to many injection techniques and is close to the effect after surgery. It is more like a needleless injection (無針埋線).

The abbreviation SMAS translates as Superficial Muscle-Aponeurotic System (superficial muscular-aponeurotic system). It is located directly under the subcutaneous fat and is a case for facial muscles. The procedure is carried out with the help of a special device that generates high energy focused ultrasound, as a result of which the deep layers of the skin and muscles of the face seem to be “sewn,” the face is tightened, wrinkles disappear, and ptosis (omission of tissues) becomes less pronounced.

After the procedure, some changes are visible immediately, but the final effect appears within 3 months and, as a rule, lasts up to one and a half to two years.

How it works

Internal fat, muscle, blood, and other tissues vary in density. Ultrasound in the HIFU device for body shaping recognizes exactly the fat cell. The ultrasonic wave penetrates through tissues and organs without affecting them.

The ultrasonic wave hits a predetermined depth, focuses, and heats the tissues up to 65 degrees. After such exposure, adipose tissue is destroyed. Then the decay products of fat cells are excreted from the body through the lymphatic system.

Who is suitable for?

HIFU lipolysis technology is not suitable for all patients, but only for those who:

  1. body mass index normal, moderate, and overweight
  2. subcutaneous fat thickness more than 2 cm
  3. sports do not bring results or are contraindicated

What are the benefits?

  • Non-invasive. The procedure does not cause blood loss, infection, or allergic reactions.
  • Does not require training or rehabilitation.
  • Can be done at any time of the year. There are no summer restrictions, as there is no effect on the epidermis.
  • Low risk of side effects.

Co-Occurring Disorders in Residential Treatment

Definition and Prevalence Co-occurring disorders, often referred to as dual diagnoses, involve the simultaneous presence of a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder. This combination can complicate treatment, as each condition may influence the other. Statistics indicate that a significant portion of individuals with substance use disorders also experience mental health challenges. For […]
